Internet User Privacy
Vegas Affiliates was created to manage relationships between members
and merchants in a unique way that does not compromise the privacy
of its users. We understand the need to respect the privacy of Internet
Users and Vegas Affiliates does not collect personally identifying
information without the Internet User's permission.
This policy applies to the web sites owned or operated by Vegas
Affiliates.
Some terms used in this Policy are:
"Merchant" - which means a person or organization
that has entered into a Vegas Affiliates Merchant Service Agreement
with Vegas Affiliates and operates a Web site that pays for a sale,
lead or click by an Internet User referred by a Member.
"Members" - which means a person or organization
that has entered into a Vegas Affiliates Member Service Agreement
and may be compensated for a sale, lead or click by an Internet
User that the Member refers to a Merchant's Web site.
"Cookies" - which are small pieces of information
that are stored by an Internet User's browser on the Internet User's
hard drive.
Collection of Data
Vegas Affiliates does not collect Internet User identity or contact
information from Internet Users' visits to Vegas Affiliates Web
Sites. For each visitor to the Vegas Affiliates site, the visitor's
computer reaches us via a particular IP, (Internet Protocol), address.
Vegas Affiliates's servers automatically collect this IP address.
An Internet User's browser sets Cookies (when enabled) that contain
small amounts of data on the Internet User's computer after a visit
to any web site. Cookies assist Merchants in tracking Internet Users'
activities beginning from a Member's web site or subscription e-mail
through an Merchant's web site that the Internet User links to from
the Member's site or e-mail. If the Internet User re-visits the
Merchant's site directly, Vegas Affiliates through the Merchant
is able to continue to track the Internet User's activities on the
Merchant's site and reward the Member that referred the Internet
User. The Cookies themselves tell Vegas Affiliates nothing about
the Internet User personally.
Cookies are used in two stages of Vegas Affiliates tracking: when
an Merchant's banner image is loaded on a Web page for viewing by
an Internet User and when the banner is clicked by an Internet User.
The function of these Cookies is to provide Vegas Affiliates with
information solely for the purpose of paying Members commissions
when an Internet User clicks on a link, creates a lead, or makes
a purchase on an Merchant's Web site.
No information is obtained from the Internet User or Internet User's
computer to generate the unique identifying number of the Internet
User. Vegas Affiliates's servers automatically generate the unique
number. None of Vegas Affiliates's Cookies are used to perform "User
Profiling".
Vegas Affiliates does receive and record partial e-mail addresses
of Internet Users, only in circumstances where the Internet User
has voluntarily provided its identity and contact information through
the Merchant's Web site or Member's Web site. This partial e-mail
address does not enable Vegas Affiliates to personally identify
an Internet User.
If a Web site using Vegas Affiliates's tracking technology were
to provide any personally identifying information to Vegas Affiliates
beyond name and/or e-mail address, Vegas Affiliates would discard
that information immediately.
Disabled and Non-functioning Cookies
Vegas Affiliates does not employ any technology or means of preventing
an Internet User from disabling the acceptance of a Cookie. Most
Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but an Internet User's
browser may be set by the Internet User to disable this function.
Some Web browsers or similar Internet navigating technology may
not support (or consistently support) Cookie technology. If Cookies
are disabled or the Internet User is utilizing technology that does
not adequately support Cookie technology, Vegas Affiliates shall
not be able to record the Internet User's click on a Merchant's
link that was placed on a Member's Web site or within a subscription
e-mail or the Internet User's subsequent activity at the Merchant's
Web site.
Use and Disclosure of Data - Vegas Affiliates does not sell,
rent, or disclose profile data to any party.
Vegas Affiliates does not sell or rent personally identifying information.
Vegas Affiliates does not disclose personally identifying information
to anyone that Vegas Affiliates is not authorized to do so. Vegas
Affiliates uses anonymous user data to create and report the browsing,
purchasing and/or lead form completion activities of anonymous users.
Vegas Affiliates reserves the right to release information on Internet
Users if compelled to do so by proper judicial or governmental authorities.
Disclosure shall be limited to only to those that Vegas Affiliates
is compelled to disclose to. At present, all information processing
occurs in Canada.
Access and Opt Out
Vegas Affiliates empowers users to access and modify their anonymous
profile data through an update your details section. This section
can be found behind the login sections. Vegas Affiliates provides
access to this panel on its own web site, and requires that its
personalization service client's also provide clear access to the
section. To opt out of the system users are required the follow
links.
Security Measures
Vegas Affiliates employs industry standard security measures to
ensure the security of all data. Access to Vegas Affiliates customer
data is accessible via password protection through the Merchant
and Member Accounts created by each Merchant and Member, and to
designated Vegas Affiliates employees who require system level access
in order to perform their jobs. Access to Internet User data that
identifies the Internet User's name and/or e-mail addresses is limited
to designated Vegas Affiliates employees who require such access
in order to perform their jobs and to a Merchant or Member that
provided such information. Each Merchant and Member is responsible
for maintaining the confidentiality of its own password used for
accessing its accounts on the Vegas Affiliates Network.
Account Number and Password
It is the responsibility of each Member and Merchant to keep their
personal Account Number and Password confidential. Vegas Affiliates
is not liable for an account that has been used without the authority
of the registered user, as a result of disclosing their Account
Number and Password.
Upon receipt of a written request signed by a Member or Merchant
Vegas Affiliates shall cancel a Member ID and Password.
Member and Merchant Privacy
Vegas Affiliates does not share with anyone other than a Merchant,
personally identifiable information about a Member, and vice versa.
Such exchange is limited to a party's e-mail address and basic Account
detail (including but not limited to Web site name (if applicable),
date Web site or subscription e-mail first entered into operation,
and visitor demographics). Such information shall be accessible
to enable each party (an Merchant and a Member) to assess a potential
affiliation with the other party and, when an affiliation has been
established, to facilitate the on-going relationship. The parties
may contact each other before entering into an affiliation (e.g.
for the purpose of soliciting affiliation, and other similar commercial
solicitations) and after an affiliation for the purpose of sending
and receiving targeted commercial e-mail solicitations regarding
special promotions and affiliation opportunities. Once an affiliation
is established, the parties are privy to recorded information regarding
the affiliation results, including anonymous Internet User transaction
data for Internet Users referred by the Member. If a Member has
been given permission by the Internet User to record personally
identifiable Internet User transaction data (e.g. through rewards
membership programs), the anonymous Internet User transaction data
may be coded by a Member to enable the Member to generate personally
identifiable Internet User transaction data. Under the foregoing
circumstances, the information remains anonymous to Vegas Affiliates.
By completing the registration process, Members and Merchants agree
to be solicited by Merchants and Members (respectively) for the
foregoing purposes. All other personally identifiable information
of Merchants and Members that is provided by them during the sign-up
process is retained and used by Vegas Affiliates in order to serve
the Member and the Member's Merchants through processes such as
performance reporting and commission payments to Members. Merchants
and Members have agreed with Vegas Affiliates not to engage in spamming.
Each Merchant and Member may view or modify the information that
it provided during sign-up.
Merchant and Member Web Sites and Member Subscription E-mails
Although Vegas Affiliates requires Merchants and Members to adhere
to Good Business Practices as a condition of Membership in the Vegas
Affiliates Network, Vegas Affiliates is not responsible for the
information practices of Merchants or Members. Merchants and Members
may collect information from or about Internet Users, including
personal information. The collection, use, and disclosure of information
by Merchants and Members are subject to their respective privacy
policies, which may differ from Vegas Affiliates's Privacy Policy.
SPAM
Vegas Affiliates does not intentionally send messages that could
legitimately be construed as SPAM. Vegas Affiliates's Merchants
and Members are held to the same standards. Vegas Affiliates believes
that successful online marketing is created by understanding buyers
and their interests, not by using mass e-mail programs that bother
large numbers of uninterested parties. Consequently, Vegas Affiliates
has developed the following policies against the practice of spam:
- All e-mail sent by Vegas Affiliates on behalf of our clients
must have an enclosed opt-out.
- Partner recruiting activities that include e-mail messaging
must rely on opt-in methods.
- Vegas Affiliates will advise its clients that we believe
SPAM is both inappropriate and ineffective.
- Vegas Affiliates will recommend to all of its clients that
partners found to be sending SPAM will be put on notice and
investigated before being removed if found guilty.
- Recipients of Vegas Affiliates's client newsletter may
opt-out of that newsletter at any time by responding to the
mailing.

the services that you requested from Vegas Affiliates.
Policy Changes
Vegas Affiliates may find it necessary or be legally obligated
to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will
be posted at this site. Except as otherwise required by law, modifications
to this Privacy Policy will not affect the privacy of data collected
by Vegas Affiliates prior to the effective date of the policy
change.
